Sisterhood
Sisterhood
The Glen Rock Jewish Center Sisterhood seeks to embrace women across all generations, in the spirit of L’Dor V'dor. Our mission is to support and strengthen a vibrant women’s community through outreach and to provide experiences that forge a sense of connection to each other and to our synagogue. We do this through opportunities that provide social interaction, educational and spiritual growth, and tikkun olam (healing the world).
The Glen Rock Jewish Center Sisterhood is open to all members of the GRJC, mothers of children attending the Hebrew School and Nursery School, and to non-members of the GRJC. We are an inclusive organization intent on creating a sense of community where women can share new experiences and unite around their ancient heritage.
The Sisterhood sponsors many fun-filled social activities throughout the year, often relating to holiday celebrations but with a unique women’s focus, such as our “Sisters in the Sukkah”, "Designer Handbag Bingo," and "Renew You Rosh Chodesh" events. We have speakers on various topics and engage in community outreach projects, such as food drives. We also sponsor a Sisterhood Book Club, which meets numerous times throughout the year, analyzing books with our own diverse female Jewish perspectives. Whether it’s an activity that is spiritual or social, we enjoy the opportunity to strengthen our friendships and deepen our connection as a community.
For more information, please email Randi Asher at sisterhood@grjc.org or call the synagogue at (201) 652-6624.
