Jazz at the GRJC

The Glen Rock Jewish Center is lucky to have so many talented musicians as members. 

"Jazz at the GRJC" was started in 2017 by Sam and Jeremy Fishman and Sam has continued to hold a show every year for the past four years. Below is a brief recap of previous shows:

Featuring Morgan Treni and The Landscapes​

For the 3rd annual Jazz at GRJC event, Morgan Treni and The Landscapes brought their special blend of jazz, rock, soul, and cabaret to North Jersey. This New York City based band, formed by singer/songwriter, Morgan Treni, played a unique infusion of different genres, such as Pop, Rock n’ Roll, Blues, and even Musical Theatre. The show featured original music and some selections by the Brecker Brothers and John Scofield


2018 Show - Sunday, January 7, 2018
Featuring Ken Karsh, Charlie Dougherty, Peter Furlan, and Sam Fishman

For the second annual Jazz at GRJC, guitarist Ken Karsh took the stage. Ken had performed alongside Jimmy Mcgriff, Bobby Mcferrin, Bernadette Peters, and many others. He attended Berkelee College of Music, is on the faculty at Duquesne University, and has authored two textbooks for jazz guitar. Charlie Dougherty on bass, and Sam Fishman on drums. 


2017 Show - Sunday, January 8, 2017
Featuring Misha Piatigorsky, Charlie Dougherty, Jermey Fishman, and Sam Fishman

New York-based jazz pianist Misha Piatigorsky performed original jazz compositions as well as the music of John Coltrane and Miles Davis and was joined by bassist Charlie Dougherty, saxophonist Jeremy Fishman, and drummer Sam Fishman (both GRJC members). Misha is founder of The Sketchy Orkestra and the Misha Piatigorsky Trio.
