Welcoming the Stranger: GRJC's Efforts to Support Refugees

The GRJC is proud to be a Welcome Campaign Congregation through HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society). As part of this partnership, we seek to find ways of fulfilling the mitzvah of "welcoming the stranger" by supporting refugees and asylum seekers in pursuit of a dream for a better life. Please take part in one or more of the following efforts.

Sign GRJC's Refugee Support Letter
Please click HERE to sign a letter asking our members of Congress to uphold the rights and safety of refugees and asylum seekers. (Select GRJC from the dropdown menu.)  Once all signatures are collected, our congregation will deliver the letter and request a meeting to discuss the importance of welcoming refugees to our community.

The group "Glen Rock is Never Surrendering" (GRINS)  was created to support Bergen County hospitals during the COVID-19 crisis. The primary goal is to deliver meals daily to hospitals, working with local restaurants.  GRINS is now also collecting items to help the Ukranian community in this time of need.  If you would like more information, please check out the group's Facebook page
